Greg and I are so blessed to announce the arrival of our daughter, Madeline Rose Hamann. She was born Tuesday, June 24th @ 10:57 PM via c-section. She weighed 8lbs. 8oz. and was 20 inches. Big baby girl!
I will never forget the feelings that overwhelmed me when they first placed her next to me. She didn't cry, her eyes were just big and her and I stared at each other for a good long while. I couldn't stop crying and shaking as I realized that her and Greg and I were about to start the most incredible journey that life could take us on. Greg and I would try to talk about it but it was so daunting and amazing that it was hard to put into words. So we just prayed, cried, and worshipped the God that made our daughter!
We spent the next few days at the hospital as I healed and the three of us bonded. I tried to get Greg to go home to rest and shower, but he didn't want to leave his "Maddie" at all! We were so blessed to have great friends and family stop by and to know that this child will be surrounded on all sides by love! Thanks to those of you who had our room smelling beautiful with flowers, and to those of you who have now stacked Laney's wardrobe for the next few years! (Auntie Adge and Kelly)!
We came home yesterday, the 28th and felt such a sense of peace to be here! She fits right in! So for now we are just figuring each other out and really just camping out in the house the three of us. Both Greg and I cannot wait for you all to meet our Madeline Rose, she's the best!

Madeline, you have a great Mommy and Daddy who will take care of you, love you, and teach you all about life. Your Daddy might even make you laugh a time or two (until you are a teenager that is).

So I have to confess, as Eric and I were out of town for Laney's arrival I have been stalking your blog for news!!!!! Rachel and Greg, she is SO precious. We are so excited for the journey that God has planned for the Hamann family. AND Caden is excied to have another girl to play with in the monki boiz family. Love you all and cannot wait to meet that precious bundle!!!!!!!
She is so beautiful! A great mix of you, but I see Greg in her a lot. So which is it, Laney or Maddie?
