Mary Pondered These Things in Her Heart...

So much of what happens during Christmas is external...it can be seen and experienced and measured with hugs, wrapping paper, Christmas cards and food. I was really struck by the passage in Luke 9:27 where the Word became flesh, bore to a teenager named Mary...and Luke says that "Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart." I think I was more convicted about the lack of "pondering" and "treasuring" that had taken place in my heart as I rushed to Target for the 30th time in a week or as I baked my eleventh batch of cookies. Praise the Lord for Scripture that knocks me outside the head when I need it (which is a lot). Slow down....treasure these truths, Rachel! That's what it is all about.

Hey! I saw you at the Doctors office today. You walked right in front of Josh and I (not that you know my face so well that you would notice) but we noticed you immediately! I was going to say hi after you checked in but you went to the bathroom and then the nurse took you.. we were there with both Grandmothers, my sister and our 2 babies for an ultrasound. I am 34 weeks and expecting another girl!

Hope you had a great day!

Rachel...that is so funny. I did not see you, otherwise I would of for sure said hi! And of course I would have recognized you! But now that you mention it...I saw a familiar woman playing with a little boy in the waiting room...it was probably Josh's mom who I would recognize from Judson. LOL..it's all coming together now!
Anyways...congratulations on baby #3! That is so exciting! I am 31 weeks with another girl too!

Sissy! I love that story. Mom would always say that to me about heavy thing..."store that up and ponder it in your heart like Mary did" :) Love you!
